For the LOVE of God

Feb 16, 2025    Pastor Dave Gargano

Pastor Dave's sermon emphasizes the importance of understanding and cultivating our love for Jesus, specifically distinguishing between different types of love, such as agape and phileo. He challenges the congregation to reflect on their relationship with Jesus, questioning if their actions truly demonstrate a deep commitment to Him. Using the dialogue between Jesus and Peter, Pastor highlights Jesus' desire for authentic, sacrificial love and encourages believers to prioritize their faith over worldly distractions. Ultimately, he invites those who feel distant from God to seek restoration and deepen their spiritual maturity through a genuine connection with Christ.

He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”

16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”

He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”

17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”

And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.”

Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.
